Listen to Our Children

40 x 30

Oil Paint on Canvas

I decided that my figures needed to start interacting with each other on the canvas. So, in this one, there’s the child in the middle flanked on either side by the mother and the father. The parents are engaged via word bubble in a non-descript scribbly conversation. The child is vying for attention by saying “me” in his word bubble. I imagine this being the moment right before a pouty tantrum and an awareness of the value of listening to our children.
