Oil paint on Canvas
18 × 24
When my daughter was 5 years old, she loved doing wax figures’ hair. She took this one after I made it and twisted the pink hair and pulled it down in front of her face. It was an innocence of childhood act and so sweet. I was expecting this feeling to stay with the painting all the way through the process. Interestingly, that didn’t happen. Once the shadows were in place, it turned into a much darker masked head. What’s behind the mask? Has the innocence been lost? I don’t think so…
*Price is based on $4 per sq/in + $150 for materials
