Life doesn't always come with a clear answer. Sometimes it's a toss-up. It's a toss (up) turns uncertainty into something colorful, playful, and wonderfully complicated.
Two expressive wax-string figures occupy a surreal world of opposing shapes, colors, and visual directions. DO and NO appear within the composition like competing possibilities, two sides of a decision, two voices in your head, or two very different ways of looking at the same situation.
The title plays along with the imagery: It's a toss (up). The answer isn't settled. And maybe that's the point.
Rather than offering a neat resolution, the artwork embraces the messy middle, the moment when you're weighing possibilities, second-guessing yourself, changing your mind, and trying to decide which way to go.
Bold, colorful, and full of visual movement, It's a toss (up) is contemporary figurative art for anyone who has ever stared at two choices and thought, "Uhhh... maybe?"
